Anna came to to yoga in 2001 and trained regularly with Edward Clark of Tripsichore in London for two years, in predominantly Ashtanga and Vinyasa Flow. This deep immersion and the powerful benefits that came from it, encouraged her to explore many different styles of yoga. She has since trained with many of Brighton, London and India's well established teachers in Ashtanga, Hatha, Vinyasa Flow, Dynamic, Jivamukti, Kundalini and Tantra yoga. She has a 200 Hour Training certificate from 'Tribe' with Yoga Alliance and is also a qualified Pregnancy Yoga Teacher (having trained with Sally Parkes) and HypnoBirthing Practitioner. She has also completed Uma Dinsmore-Tuli's Yoga Nidra Foundation course.

Her teaching is informed by all these styles, and has an equal respect for dynamic yoga as a form that powerfully detoxifies and realigns the body, as well as the more subtle practices of Meditation, Yoga Nidra and Pranayama. She thrives on the opportunity to share with others these ancient practices, that have had such a beneficial and transformative effect in her own life.

Liz Downes: Yoga and Pilates

Liz trained as a teacher initially gaining a BEd Hons degree in Drama and English. She then trained as an actor in London and it was at drama school in the eighties that she first practiced Yoga. Over twenty years as an actress working in Theater, TV, Commercials and Corporate Training, she always tried to exercise wherever her work took her which led to a very varied fitness regime. Pilates however had been recommended to her by many actors and when she first attended classes she recognise many of the moves from her physical training in movement and dance so felt very much at home, and as a result decided to train as an instructor at the Pilates Institute.

Lizs' teaching draws on many influences over the years and Liz has her own down to earth style based on her experience in Classical and Modified Pilates practice as well as workshops with physiotherapists. After teaching in the fitness industry for twelve years, teaching a whole range of classes from Body Balance to Zumba, Liz has now come back to where she started, with Hatha Yoga. She chose to train with Laxmi Yoga as Sally Parkes' thorough yet informal approach matched her own style of teaching.

Liz finds using flowing sequences helps to focus the mind and provide a challenging and comprehensive workout for the whole body. She believes Yoga is always a journey, within each individual asana and within our practice itself. There is always more to give, more to release and more to learn. Yoga is an ancient and enduring tradition, we practice to learn and to grow - the arrival will always be on the horizon.

Jo Tison, Yoga and Reiki

Jo started practicing yoga for physical exercise but instantly noticed many more benefits and loved the instant connection between the mind, body and breath, flowing through the postures in a moving meditation, strengthening and stretching the body whilst stilling the mind.

"I completed my 200 RTY Yoga Alliance USA in Rishikesh, India where I fully immersed myself in India and the traditional Yoga culture. I also qualified as a Reiki Master in India. I love working with energy and see a great importance in recognising that everything is a vibration of energy and by aiding the flow of energy through our Chakras and bodies we can notice a number of improvements at various levels"

Jo works from the heart to share yoga and Reiki and works on the basis that everybody is different, due to individual past experience, wearing emotions in our bodies and having dominating Chakras and varied lifestyles we experience a different world to each other through our minds and bodies.
