Laxmi Yoga Teacher Training - 200 hours - Vinyasa & Hatha Yoga

Laxmi Yoga is a balanced, respectful, scientific and thorough Yoga Teacher Training program.

Laxmi (pronounced 'laxsh-mee') Yoga Teacher Training will is a comprehensive, all encompassing, thorough and honest approach to yoga and how to teach yoga, that whilst rooted in science, is also respectful to the yoga tradition.  Together we will explore the Eight Limbs of Yoga and how, as a dedicated yoga teacher, they should infiltrate both your practice (on and off the mat) as well as your teaching of yoga. You will gain an in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology and the biomechanics of safe and effective Asana (yoga posture) practice, as well as knowledge of yoga philosophy, meditation, Pranayama, Ayurveda and subtle anatomy. You will learn how to teach both Hatha and Dynamic Yoga. Furthermore, Laxmi Yoga is the only yoga teacher training program to include full First Aid In The Work Place training that is certified by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).

The next course starts in September 2012 at the Dru Yoga training centre in North Wales. Appilcations now open.

How did Laxmi Yoga develop? A note from Sally........
‘Experience is, for me, the highest authority. Neither the Bible nor the prophets and neither Freud nor research – neither the revelations of God nor man, can take prescidence over my own direct experience' Carl Rogers (Psychologist and co-founder of the humanistic approach to psychology).

'This quote resonates with me on a deep level as it is my experience of all traditions of yoga that has brought me to this point. I have studied yoga since 1998 and taught yoga since 2002, but it is only now that I feel ready to teach
within the context of teacher training. The process that has brought me here has been long, weird and wonderful and one I  am still learning from. After completing my degree in Sports and Exercise Science in the year 2000, I already knew I wanted to teach yoga. However, I also knew that I had to gain a lot of experience and work on my body and mind before even contemplating doing a yoga teacher training course. So I went to every yoga class I could and read all the books and articles I could. I then packed a bag and travelled to various countries where I’d always find somewhere to roll out my mat and practice. For eighteen months I allowed myself to be guided by my gut instinct. This exposed me to many different teaching styles, with my main studies being of the Iyengar and Ashtanga traditions, and you will no doubt notice the influence of these traditions throughout this training. Upon returning to the UK, I carried on my studies and have since done various teacher training course, I can not thank the universe enough for allowing me to have gained this invaluable experience.
And so, after much thought and study I have designed a system that covers all aspects of yoga and is, I feel, a well balanced and heartfelt approach to yoga.  For the parts of the curriculum that could be delivered more effectively by others, I have invited guest teachers to share their experience and perspective. You can be confident that teaching is truthful and comes from the heart, which is in part the essence of yoga'.
.
